Package Contents QConvergeConsole Graphical User Interface (GUI) installation packages are available for the following supported OS platforms: * Windows platforms: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Windows_.exe QConvergeConsole_Installer_Windows_x64_.exe * Linux platforms: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_x32_.bin QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_x64_.bin QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_IA64_.bin QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_ppc64_.bin QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_ppc64_LE_.bin * SPARC platforms: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Solaris_SPARC_.bin * Solaris x86 platforms: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Solaris_x86_.bin NOTE: The "" in the preceding file names represents the build number of the current software release. 2. Supported Operating Systems QConvergeConsole runs on the following OS platforms: * Client browser. Installation 4.1 Installing in Silent mode Installer provides six options for silent installation: -DSECURITY_LOGIN=<1_OR_0>: option to enable Security Login feature. Default value is 0. -DSECURITY_LOGIN_STR=: Login setting for Security Login feature. Default value is QCC. -DSECURITY_PASSWORD_STR=: Password setting for Security Login feature. Default value is config. -DLOCALHOST_ACCESS_ONLY=<1_OR_0>: option to enable Localhost Access Only feature. Default value is 0. -DSSL_ENABLE=<1_OR_0>: option to enable SSL feature. Default value is 1. -DUSER_INPUT_PORT_NUMBER: option to change Tomcat Port Number. -DUSER_INPUT_SSL_PORT_NUMBER: option to change Tomcat SSL Port Number. -DLOG_LOCATION: option to change Log directory. Default value is installation folder. Default Tomcat Port Number is 8080. -i silent: to install silently. Note: 1 is enable, 0 is disable Use -i switch to run installer in silent mode For example: start /wait QConvergeConsole_Installer_Windows_X_X_X_XX.exe –i silent Command Line with options: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Windows_X_X_X_XX.exe -DUSER_INPUT_PORT_NUMBER=6789 -DUSER_INPUT_SSL_PORT_NUMBER=9999 -DLOCALHOST_ACCESS_ONLY=1 –DSSL_ENABLE=1 -DSECURITY_LOGIN=1 -DSECURITY_LOGIN_STR=admin -DSECURITY_PASSWORD_STR=password -DLOG_LOCATION="c:\tmp\newLogLocation" –i silent The above command line sets installer to run in silent mode with options to save Host File, allow Localhost access only, enable SSL port 9999, use port number 6789 for Tomcat, enable Security Login feature, admin and password must be used to start QCC. and uninstall previous install. 4.2 Installing in Console Mode On Unix system, the GUI components are often missing from OS installation. QCC installer is running in console mode if GUI components are missing. During installation, installer displays option to uninstall existing QCC if existing QCC is detected. A YES or NO response is required. Default value is YES. Enter to accept default value. Installer also displays option to choose enabling SSL feature. A YES or NO response is required. Default value is YES. Enter to accept default value. 4.3 Installing on Linux machine. For Linux x32 machine, select installer file: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_i386_X_X_X_XX.bin file For Linux x64 machine, select installer file: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_x64_X_X_X_XX.bin file For Linux IA64 machine, select installer file: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_IA64_X_X_X_XX.bin file For Linux ppc64 machine, select installer file: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_ppc64_X_X_X_XX.bin file For Linux ppc64 LE machine, select installer file: QConvergeConsole_Installer_Linux_ppc64_LE_X_X_X_XX.bin file The Linux installer installs Tomcat 7.0.78 at location /opt/QLogic_Corporation/QConvergeConsole/ After the Installation finishes Please run the following commands on the command line : Type the following command on the console: (To export CATALINA_HOME) # export CATALINA_HOME=/opt/QLogic_Corporation/QConvergeConsole/apache-tomcat-7.0.78 (To start Tomcat) # $CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh start 4.4 Installing on SunOS (Solaris Sparc and Solaris x86). For Oracle environment : Recommend using Oracle Shared shell (ssh) to login Oracle server for installing Console mode. For Solaris Sparc: Run the QConvergeConsole_Installer_Solaris_SPARC_X_X_X_XX.bin file For Solaris x86 Run the QConvergeConsole_Installer_Solaris_x86_X_X_X_XX.bin file The Solaris installer installs Tomcat 7.0.73 at location /opt/QLogic_Corporation/QConvergeConsole/ After the Installation finishes Please run the following commands on the command line : Type the following command on the console: (To export CATALINA_HOME) # export CATALINA_HOME=/opt/QLogic_Corporation/QConvergeConsole/apache-tomcat-7.0.78 (To start Tomcat) # $CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh start 4.5 Starting the QConvergeConsole web application After Successful installation of the QConvergeConsole application, open any browser and type: 1. For Client system : http://IPAddress:8080/QConvergeConsole/ 2. For Server System open any browser and type : http://localhost:8080/QConvergeConsole/ * For SSL Mode : 1. For Server System open any browser and type : https://localhost:8443/QConvergeConsole/ 2. For Client system open any browser and type : https://IPAddress:8443/QConvergeConsole/ The IPAddress used in the Address box is the IP address of the machine running Tomcat server. 4.6 Removing the QConvergeConsole web application For Windows system: 1. Go to All Programs->QLogic Corporation->QConvergeConsole Click on QCC GUI Uninstall menu item 2. Follow the uninstallation dialog to uninstall application. 5. Additional Notes 5.1 Hardware Requirements Windows * Minimum of 150MB of disk space Linux * Minimum of 150MB of disk space Solaris * Minimum of 150MB of disk space 5.2 Software Requirements Windows: * JAVA JRE version 7 update 22 should be present and variable should be set JAVA JRE Link: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp * The current version of the installer has the provision for silently installing Tomcat 7 if Tomcat 7 is not present in the system . It gives the user the option to install or not install Tomcat 7. If Tomcat 7 is not present and user chooses the option not to install Tomcat 7, Tomcat 7 will not be installed and installer exits. * If user prefers to install Tomcat 7 manually, the Tomcat 7 installation can be found under the following link http://tomcat.apache.org/download-70.cgi (Under Binary distribution Click on “Windows Service Installer”) * On Windows Server 2012 and newer Windows OS version, all latest Windows updates must have been installed before using SSL port (8443) for connection. Linux: * JAVA_HOME variable must be set to point to JDK installation location. For Example: export JAVA_HOME=/root/gwt/jre1.6.0_22/ 5.3 Supported Features Windows: * Silent and GUI Installation mode * Automatic Tomcat 7 Installation * Starting Tomcat 7 service in windows after installation Unix-based platform : * Silent, Console, and GUI Installation mode * Automatic Tomcat 7 Installation 5.4 Start/Stop Tomcat Server Start/Stop Tomcat server: # $CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh start # $CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh stop 5.5 Additional Installation Information The software is installed at the following location: * For Windows platform: "Program Files/QLogic Corporation" * For Unix-based platform: "/opt/QLogic_Corporation" Tomcat port number can be changed using Tomcat Port Number Setup input panel. For Windows platform only: * The installer installs shortcut to the uninstaller executable file: QConvergeConsoleUninstaller.exe. * The installer installs shortcut to default QCC GUI URL: http://localhost:/QConvergeConsole/ * Shortcuts are installed in All Programs->QLogic Corporation-> QConvergeConsole. For Windows host, the installer merges the local.properties file with existing local.properties file installed by previous installer. The local.properties file is located under webapps\QConvergeConsole of Tomcat file structure which was created by a QCC installer or any Tomcat installer. For Unixed-base host, the installer merges the local.properties file with existing local.properties file installed by previous installer. The local.properties file is located under webapps\QConvergeConsole of Tomcat file structure. Tomcat must be installed by a QCC installer. If previous install is detected, there is option to uninstall previous install. Select Yes option to uninstall previous install. Select No option to quit installer. Demo installer with virtual agents installed. (Windows only) * During the QCC GUI install getting string “/lib/libc.so.6’: no such file” error on certain Linux distros. This error is generated when installing QCC on system that is missing some 32-bit libraries. This is not an issue. 6.
